§ 2-2. City's policy against discrimination on basis of handicap.

  • (a)

    It shall be the policy of the city to comply with the provisions of 31 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 51, section 51.55, which relates to discrimination on the basis of handicap.

    (b)

    The city shall not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs and activities.

    (c)

    Any person who desires to file a complaint alleging violation of the policy expressed in this section should file such complaint, in writing, with the person designated from time to time by resolution of the council. The complaint shall be presented to the council for consideration at its next regular meeting. The person filing the complaint shall be given the opportunity to explain his position to the council.
